QUOTE FORM WAINWRIGHT DIRECT

“We ended up supplying them with tens of thousands of screws for application of the plywood to floorboards. This is a great example of us thinking ahead for our clients, as it’s our job to remind them that they’ll be requiring relevant materials later on.”

CASE STUDY:

I would guess that the cost of the full hotel refurbishment was in the millions, but the plywood specifically that we were providing was around £30,000-£40,000 at the time. Bear in mind that this project was quite a few years ago; in today’s money, the project would be more around £100,000 worth!

When this project began I was abroad on holiday, however I knew that it was important to remain contactable should anything go wrong. On project start day I stayed in my hotel, by my phone. I received a call from a team member explaining that “We’ve got a problem, we can just about get the lorry into the service yard at the back of the hotel where the building materials need to go through. Unfortunately the lift that travels from the second to third floor will only hold three sheets of plywood with a person at one time.”

After communicating with the site agent, accommodation was made for us due to the tricky circumstances and location.

Everything else was okay, with the job being completed – minus that little hiccup!

When AC Interiors initially called us asking for plywood, we clarified what they were planning on using the boards for, we ended up supplying them with tens of thousands of screws for application of the plywood to floorboards. This is a great example of us thinking ahead for our clients, as it’s our job to remind them that they’ll be requiring relevant materials later on.

On this particular project, the company who delivered the plywood also quoted for the job. We were able to purchase the materials from them for cheaper than they quoted the contractor. What also helped here was that I professionally knew the person doing the job – relationship building is another key aspect of our job!
